Literary Translation
Instead of taking a typical student job while studying at university, I started translating novels for HarperCollins Germany. I enjoy this work, which gives me a lot of artistic freedom that I don’t enjoy in my other areas of expertise. At the same time, it keeps me on my toes for translating marketing copy, where it is more important to convey a positive message in an appealing text than to deliver a genuine rendition of the original.
Since 2000, I have translated 22 novels, all of them published by HarperCollins Germany.
